Hecta is an online shop built for the way farms actually sell: by weight, in rounds, with a ute and an esky. Here's the full list, including the things we've deliberately left to someone else.
Nobody else does this
Charge the real weight
Customer picks a size and sees an estimate. Nothing is taken. You weigh at packing, enter the figure, and the exact amount is collected. No refund, no adjustment email, no invoice.
Nobody else does this
Stock is an animal, not twelve SKUs
Record what one beast yielded. Cuts sell down properly, oldest batch first. You get your real yield and cost per saleable kilo — numbers most farms are guessing at.
Nobody else does this
Orders open and close
Rounds run on your schedule. Cutoff shows on the shop, packing list builds itself. Nobody orders at 9pm Friday for a Saturday pickup.
These three are the reason Hecta exists. Shopify, Square and the rest can't do any of them — not because they're bad, but because almost none of their sellers weigh anything after it's ordered.
Selling
7 features
Products that behave like farm products — variable, seasonal, and sometimes gone until the next animal.
Sold by weightAll plans
Set a price per kilo and size bands. The customer sees an estimate; you charge what it actually weighed.
Fixed-price productsAll plans
Eggs, jam, a dozen sausages. Straight price, straight stock count.
Sizes and optionsAll plans
250g or 1kg, whole bean or ground. Up to three options per product, each with its own price.
Batch & carcass stockAll plans
The moat. One animal in, per-cut availability out. Yield and cost per kilo calculated for you.
Batch codes & use-byAll plans
For jam, cheese, bacon and broth. Ingredients, allergens, printable labels, full trace back to the jar.
Sold out, or pre-orderAll plans
Choose what happens when a cut runs out — hide it, show it sold out, take waitlist names, or keep taking orders against your next processing date.
Categories & orderingAll plans
Group how you like, pin what you want seen first.
Taking orders
5 features
Rounds, not a shop that's open every hour of every day whether you're ready or not.
Order roundsAll plans
Open Monday, close Wednesday, hand over Saturday. Or leave it always open — some farms prefer that.
Cutoff on the shopAll plans
Customers see exactly how long they've got. Orders stop themselves.
Order limitsAll plans
Cap a round, or cap one product per customer so nobody takes the lot.
Order page for customersAll plans
One link in their email. No password, no account, no app.
WaitlistsAll plans
Sold out? Take names and email them the moment the next batch is up.

Payment processing is 1% + 20c to the bank and 0.5% to us on every plan — 1.5% all in, against about 2.9% + 30c on Shopify. From 1 October you can't surcharge card payments, so that difference comes straight out of your margin.
What it doesn't do
Every farm platform's feature list reads like it does everything. Here's where Hecta stops, so you can find out now rather than three weeks in.
Livestock management
No breeding records, weights, treatments or NLIS transfers. AgriWebb and the like already do that properly.
Accounting
It gives your accountant clean invoices and a BAS export. It isn't Xero and won't pretend to be.
A card reader at the market
Take walk-up payments on Square as you already do. Pre-orders come through Hecta.
Talking to your abattoir
No processor integrations — every one of them is different. Entering a kill sheet takes about five minutes and always works.
Overseas orders
Australian dollars, Australian banks, Australian addresses. That's the whole market we're built for.
Moving your subscribers for you
Recurring payments can't transfer between platforms — anywhere, not just here. Leave existing subscribers where they are and start new ones on Hecta.
Try it beside what you've already got
Put one product on Hecta, link to it from your current site, and judge it on real orders. Your existing shop doesn't change while you look.
